Summary of the Case of Pat Farmer

Patricia Farmer, 60, was unhappy with the way her daughter Ladonna Morrow was living her life, and the way that she was raising her son. So in December 1990, Pat decided to kidnap her own grandson in order to save him from living a bad life filled with abuse and Satanic worship. (These were only allegations. The police found no evidence of abuse in her home) She took Jared while on a court appointed visit in New Mexico. She basically just disappeared. Ladonna Morrow waited for a quite sometime for them to return, but they never did. She notified authorities and an investigation ensued. Patricia Farmer and her grandson lived a life on the run for about 19 months until Unsolved Mysteries did a segment on the case. At the time Pat and Jared were living in Louisiana. She quickly left for Salt Lake City once she saw that Unsolved Mysteries would be running the episode the very next day. Tips came in that they were living in Louisiana, but she had already disappeared by the time the police arrived. She was ultimately found in Salt Lake City, Utah and was taken into custody by the FBI. Jared Lee Peters was very excited to see his mother after so much time. He told her that he had been looking for her all over the place.

Tidbits
Police had evidence that she had lived in Texas and Mississippi while on the run. Pat Farmer’s other daughter knew where Jared was the entire time. In fact she and her boyfriend stayed at some of the locations. According to her they left for Utah, in 1991. She defended her mother when interviewed.

I have been unable to find out any more information on the case. The last info that I have is that she was last taken into custody in Salt Lake City, Utah. Still looking for some info on what became of the grandmother Pat Farmer. Trying to confirm if she was ever prosecuted and served time after her arrest. Also, any info on what she is up to now would be interesting. In the meantime I will still be searching as I get an opportunity.

Woman Arrested on Drug Charges

Just wanted to give a small update that I have been receiving several emails from people confirming that the woman in the arrest photo is indeed the same Ladonna. She was arrested on drug charges in Texas. Thanks for all the updates. Also, check out the comments from people who actually know the family.

Was Pat Farmer Justified in Kidnapping Her Grandson?

Do you think Pat Farmer could have been right about the allegations? Remember the police never found evidence, so nothing was ever proven. Many people close to the actual case say that Jared would have lived a better life with his grandmother. I found this photo on line when I was doing my search for Ladonna D. Morrow. She is now Ladonna Chew. This photo is of a Ladonna Dena Chew who now lives in Texas. This woman was busted during a sting operation in Pittsburg, Texas for delivering a controlled substance back in 2010. Still trying to confirm that this is the same woman.

Update on the Kidnapping Case of Pat Farmer

Tidbits:
There was another woman who resembled Pat Farmer that was arrested in held in custody until police received a fax with Farmer's photo. The other woman was then released.

A few people have written to me to tell me that they have worked with Jared and that he has told them alot about the case.

Someone who knows Jared posted this on one website
"His grandma took him because his mom was extremely abusive to him, lets just say, Jerad seriously dislikes his mom. The story you see isn't a correct potrayle of what was really going on. After his mom got him back the abuse continued, Jerad has a great relationship with his grandma and an ok relationship with his mom. He's an adult now of course so she can't beat him anymore. He has a great relationship with his dad too of course."

The correct spelling of his name as it appears now, is Jerad Lee Peters. Don't know if this is a name change or not. Ladonna Morrow is now Ladonna Chew. Jerad lives in Hobbs, New Mexico.
